The blogger Selim Slimi assaulted

The blogger Selim Slimi was assaulted while on his way to cover a protest against the General Tunisian Workers’ Union (UGTT) in Mohamed Ali Square in the centre of the capital. The incident began when he was accosted by a man who took issue with a comment he made about a motorcade transporting UGTT deputy secretary-general Houcine Abbassi. The man threatened Slimi and pushed him into a shop. There he was joined by six or seven other men who gave Slimi a beating.
