Delphine Halgand, Washington DC Director

Delphine has been working for Reporters Without Borders in Washington, DC since December 2011. She runs the US activities for the organization and advocates for journalists, bloggers and media rights worldwide. Previously, she worked for two years as a Press attaché in charge of the outreach at the French Embassy in Washington DC. Since graduating from Sciences Po Paris with a M.A. in Journalism, Delphine has been working as an economic journalist for various French media, focusing mainly on international politics and macroeconomic issues.

Tala Dowlatshahi, Senior Advisor (New York)

Tala is a New York based producer, reporter and filmmaker. Since 2002, Dowlatshahi has served as a U.S. Representative for the organization. She has worked for Amnesty International and various UN agencies. Ms. Dowlatshahi has chronicled stories in Afghanistan, Colombia, Eritrea, Eastern Europe, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Tanzania, Turkey and Uganda. She has also been featured on CNN International, BBC World News, Al Jazeera and in various humanitarian news programs. She is an associate member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Interactive EMMYs, New York Women in Film and Television and the Overseas Press Club of America. She holds a B.A. in mass communications from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.A. in international politics from New York University.

Regis Saxton, Project and Development Manager (Washington, DC)

Regis has been with Reporters Without Borders since April 2011. His responsibilities include directing the US-based fundraising activities, assisting with communications, and implementing special projects. He has nearly 4 years of fundraising management experience, and has worked with a variety of nonprofits and schools. His work with RWB is a return to his core passion for human rights, international law and freedom of expression. Regis holds a M.S. in international relations from New York University’s Center for Global Affairs and a B.A. in sociology from Ohio University.

Lyndsey Wajert, Assistant (Washington, DC)

Lyndsey has served as the DC Director Assistant since June 2011, and has worked to highlight issues of press freedom since then. Soon to be entering her fourth year at The George Washington University, she is pursuing a journalism major in GW’s School of Media and Public Affairs. Lyndsey has previously worked with journalist advocacy organizations such as the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, and has also written for publications including Philadelphia Magazine and her school’s independent student newspaper, The GW Hatchet.
